Masters champion Tiger Woods is expected to visit the White House on Monday where he will meet with President Donald Trump, according to published reports.
Woods won his 15th major tournament and fifth Masters championship at Augusta last month. Trump tweeted after Woods’ victory that he spoke with Woods and intended to honor him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom after his comeback victory at the Masters.
The Medal of Freedom recognizes individuals who have made “an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.”
Trump and Woods have been golfing partners in the past with their most-recent public pairing came at Trump National in Jupiter, Fla. in February.
