The 2025 Wealth Literacy Conference, an all-day, in-person event centered on legacy, education, community, and financial empowerment, will return to Madison on Saturday, April 26 at TruStage. The annual event, hosted by The Melanin Project, looks to educate, uplift, equip, and connect attendees with the tools needed to thrive financially and holistically.
This year’s theme, “Legacy: The Power of Present Choices,” underscores the impact of the financial decisions we make today — and how they shape tomorrow, according to a press release from The Melanin Projet, and attendees will gain access to over 20 thought leaders delivering transformational insights via mainstage talks and interactive breakout sessions on topics from personal finance to real estate, the stock market, and entrepreneurship.
“The conference is rooted in accessibility, healing, and education — with the goal of creating an inclusive space where attendees can connect, learn, and be inspired to take action toward long-term wealth building,” said Afra Smith, founder and CEO of The Melanin Project, who is organizing the event.
This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Willie Smith, executive director of the Northwest Side Community Development Corporation (NWSCDC). Opal Ellyse Tomashevska, an author and spoken word artist, will serve as the event’s master of ceremonies.
