Cynthia Brown has received the prestigious Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.

Brown traveled to Atlanta earlier this month to receive the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for her continued work in business development and support. The award is given to those who have made substantial impacts in their communities and have contributed over 4,000 hours of volunteer service in their lifetime. Awards are awarded through certified bodies who vet and verify the recipient’s background. This particular round of awards was mediated through Dr. Ebonee Empowers, LLC — a life coaching company based in Atlanta.

Brown has dedicated her life towards community-wide economic development and social justice initiatives to battle poverty and chronic unemployment.

“I’m pretty much like the Olivia Pope of Wisconsin assisting businesses in crisis,” Brown said referring to the character from the popular show “Scandal” played by Kerry Washington from 2012-2018.  “I’ve been the economic development coordinator doing a lot of the business training and development for over 25 years. Just to be able to be honored when you’re not even expecting to be honored… it’s a huge deal.”

Brown primarily works in Milwaukee and Madison to assist with the development of businesses. She serves as the CEO of C. Renee Consulting and Management Group, which specializes in social assistance and consulting in Milwaukee, and is the executive director of CRC Employment and Entrepreneurial Services Inc.

Her dedication has led to high recognition from the City of Milwaukee Human Rights Commission and Ladies of Great Distinction where she received special congressional recognition from Congresswoman Gwen Moore.

Brown was also appointed by Gov. Tony Evers to serve as a Professional Counselor Public Board member with the Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling and Social Work Examining Board. She also serves as the Professional Counseling Board co-chair.

“Out of all the work that I’ve done over the last 25 years, this is a wonderful honor,” Brown said. “For people to continue to see the work that you do just makes it all worth it. They give you all the honors and different things like that — to have it nationally and federally recognized, that just brings it all together.”
