Join us on February 1, at 9:30 a.m. for a special virtual Read Your Heart Out kick-off with MMSD’s superintendent Dr. Carlton D. Jenkins.
In celebration of National African American Parent Involvement Day, traditionally parents, community members and volunteers read books, recite poetry and connect with students through visual or oral storytelling in the classroom.
However, due to COVID-19, readers will now engage with students virtually by sharing their stories with students live via Zoom or by submitting a pre-recorded ‘read-aloud’ video for educators and staff to share with their students.
RYHO has been an annual district-wide celebration for nineteen years. For more details, pictures and history about Read Your Heart Out in MMSD, visit mmsd.org/ryho.
