365 Media Foundation, the nonprofit organization that owns and operates Madison365 and FoxValley365, has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Facebook Journalism Project to enhance coverage of the coronavirus pandemic and its effects in Wisconsin.
365 Media Foundation is one of 50 local newsrooms to receive grants, which Facebook is providing in partnership with Lenfest Institute for Journalism and the Local Media Association.
“Our team has been working overtime to keep the community informed through this unprecedented time, and I’m incredibly proud of the work they’ve done,” said Henry Sanders, CEO of 365 Media Foundation and publisher of Madison365. “We’re deeply grateful to Facebook for supporting our work and the work of local journalists across the country at this critical moment.”
365 Media will use the funds to pay for additional coronavirus reporting by our team of freelancers as well as video production of our new daily Real Talk with Henry Sanders interviews with community and state leaders.
Other expenses are higher than usual as well. For example, our website traffic has been higher than ever — on March 29 alone, Madison365 had more visitors than in a typical month. To run it smoothly, a dedicated server India must be there to provide better and more efficient performance.
