Today’s sixth and final performance of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra’s 2025 Concerts on the Square season, “Shostakovich & Beethoven,” will be postponed until Thursday, July 31, 7 p.m., due to inclement weather.

“Shostakovich” features the debut of rising star pianist Sylvia Jiang performing “Piano Concerto No. 2 in F Op. 102” by Shostakovich, according to a press release from the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, and the concert opens with “An American City” by composer Eric Gould, and the grand finale showcases Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 5”, with its instantly recognizable four-note motif that’s become one of the most iconic intros in the classical world.

Unattended blankets can be put out on the Capitol lawn tomorrow beginning at 3 p.m., and the street opens at 5 p.m. for attendees to visit food vendors and concession booths. The table area will open at 5 p.m. for reservations.
