Air Force Extends Public Comment Period For F-35 Statement

    MADISON, Wis. – The Air Force has extended the public comment period for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement on Friday.

    The statement is related to whether F-35 aircraft should be placed in Madison at Traux Field.

    According to a news release from the Air Force, the comment period will now end Nov. 1. instead of Sept. 27.

    The Air Force told the 115th Fighter Wing about the change Thursday. The Air Force announced the extension to the community through a published advisory in the Federal Register.

    The statement was prepared to look at the possible environmental consequences that could come with the Madison location.
