Madison College will celebrate 400 graduates who have earned their high school credentials through the college’s General Educational Development (GED) and High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) programs during its High School Completion Recognition Ceremony.

The ceremony, which will take place tonight at 7 p.m. in the H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium of Madison College, will recognize adult learners from diverse backgrounds who have completed their educational goals through Madison College’s School of Academic Advancement.

Graduates represent a variety of programs, including GED preparation, HSED, compulsory law education, jail education, foreign credentialing, and services for migrant and seasonal farm workers and their families. Programs are also offered in Spanish.

The keynote speaker will be Alejandra Vazquez, a Madison College High School Equivalency Program (HEP) alumna, first-generation Latina, and former migrant student. Vazquez currently serves as a high school counselor focused on academic, career and social-emotional development. She holds an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice-Law Enforcement, a Bachelor of Science in Human Services, and a Master of Educational Psychology in School Counseling.
