American Family Insurance has made a $500,000 pledge to Campaign CENTRO, Centro Hispano of Dane County announced on Tuesday

Centro will be building a new home for the Latinx community on Madison’s South Side where it will seed the expansion of the organization’s workforce and educational programs. Campaign CENTRO aims to raise $20 million dollars by the end of 2023, when Centro will be celebrating 40 years and opening its doors to the community.

“I’m honored to serve on the board of Centro Hispano and see firsthand the commitment to providing Latinx families with the inspiration and support to follow their dreams and the tools for success to make meaningful contributions in their communities,” said Cesar Pinzon, American Family Insurance vice president of inclusive excellence, in a statement. “I’m grateful for American Family’s ongoing partnership and support of Centro Hispano and I know this additional investment will allow them to continue their impactful work in Dane County.”

American Family Insurance and Centro have spent years cultivating a strong partnership, Centro Hispano said in a press release, and this gift will help the organization reach its dreams and the construction of a new building where 7,000-plus individuals will seek support each year.

“Centro Hispano has been a nonprofit partner of the American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation since the Foundation’s inception in 2016,” said Maggie Pascaly, American Family community and social impact director.  “We continue to invest in the organization because of their focus on closing equity gaps and affecting positive, social change in our communities. American Family believes in championing dreams and opportunities so that everyone can rise, and Centro Hispano is at the forefront of this work in Dane County, enabling Latinx youth and families to feel empowered to reach their goals. We’re proud to support their efforts.”
