Running for office asks for more than a platform. It asks candidates to knock on doors, make the fundraising calls nobody wants to make, put their record up for public judgment, and keep something of themselves intact through all of it. This conversation brings together leaders who have run at different levels, from city council to statewide office, to talk honestly about what a campaign actually costs, what it takes to stay grounded through it, and what changes once the race is over and the job begins.
Former County Board Supervisor and current mayoral candidate April Kigeya will lead an honest discussion with people who’ve been through it at the 365 Leadership Summit on Monday, October 19, at the Center for Black Excellence and Culture in Madison. Panelists include:
