Brewers Want You to Believe in Jesús

Brewers first baseman Jesús Aguilar hit his National-League-leading 23rd home run Monday night and is very much in the early conversations for MVP. But he’s not on the NL’s All Star Roster.

Not yet, at least. And you can help change it.

The three first basemen who made the team outright were Atlanta’s Freddy Freeman, Joey Votto of the Reds and Arizona’s Paul Goldschmidt.

But on Sunday — when he belted two homers in a 10-3 win over Atlanta — he was named one of five candidates for the final fan vote.

The other candidates are Brandon Belt of the Giants, Matt Carpenter of the Cardinals, Max Muncy of the Dodgers and Trea Turner of the host Nationals.

The Brewers organization is campaigning hard for Aguilar, and several teammates have gotten in on the act as well, posting on social media with the hashtag #WeBelieveInJesus.

Voting is open at https://www.mlb.com/all-star/final-vote until 4 pm Wednesday. You can vote as many times as you like. The All Star Game takes place Tuesday, July 17 in Washington, DC.
