
Madison School Board vice president Maia Pearson will lead a panel titled “Building Inclusive Classrooms: Effective Strategies in K-12 Education” on October 28 at the 365 Leadership Summit presented by UW Credit Union.
This panel aims to discuss and disseminate effective practices and strategies for integrating belonging into K-12 classrooms, focusing on creating welcoming and equitable educational environments for both students and teachers.
The seventh annual summit will take place October 28 and include more than 20 panel discussion on a wide range of topics, as well as the largest-ever 365 Leadership Community Choice Awards. Registration is open now at this link.
Maia is a dedicated community organizer and public servant, serving as Vice President of Madison’s Board of Education. Raised by her activist grandmother in South Madison, Maia grew up valuing collaboration and fighting for social justice. A UW-Madison graduate in International Relations and East Asian Studies, she began her career in youth development at the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County and led state-wide organizing efforts for Rise, Inc. Maia is currently the program coordinator for the Mann Fund, supporting Madison high school students who face significant barriers to success. She co-founded South Madison Unite! and has contributed to numerous boards and committees, committed to improving education, community development, and civic engagement.
