Milwaukee-based, Black woman-owned positive news company Carvd N Stone has partnered with Amazon to launch an exclusive story series.
Carvd N Stone, founded by Nyesha Stone, is a news and marketing agency centered on positive news. Her company has grown exponentially since its founding around eight years ago with its impact across the country. Stone has been looking for larger partnerships and ultimately found connections to Amazon to produce the special story series after she attended a career fair held by the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).
“This partnership with Amazon is taking another step up,” Stone said. “So I really just hope that this continues to happen. I hope this encourages other corporations in Wisconsin to see the value of our positive news and help us partner.”
Amazon had a booth at the career fair where Stone struck up a conversation. Talks went great between the two with some back-and-forth conversations for a potential partnership over a few months. The partnership marks the biggest between Carvd N Stone yet.
“That was the first time, me going to NABJ, and I’m actually getting something career-wise out of it,” Stone said. “I’ve been going since college and trying to get a job. This was the time… just going and really enjoying the benefits of the panels and meeting people. I had a different outlook on the convention.”
The partnership entails a series of stories highlighting people associated with Amazon. It will give an inside look at its employees and small businesses that have been impacted by the company.
The series will offer a more intimate human look at the people who make up the tech giant instead of thinking of Amazon as a company.
The series will release sometime later this month or possibly next. Continued releases will come out through the months that follow its launch.
