The Wisconsin chapter of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) has announced that Cynthia “CeCe” Brown, leader of C. Renee Consulting and Management Group, is stepping into the role of advocacy committee chair.

Jamie White, co-founder of Believe Crew, recently vacated the position at NAWBO, the only dues-based organization representing the interests of all women entrepreneurs across all industries, with chapters across the country.

A strong leader in the community, Brown was the clear choice for NAWBO Wisconsin as they sought to fill the advocacy chair position, the organization said in a press release. Brown has managed winning campaigns from the aldermanic ward to the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors to the Wisconsin State Senate and Wisconsin State Legislature.

“NAWBO has stood for over 50 years as the only organization representing the interests of all women entrepreneurs across every industry. That legacy matters now more than ever,” Brown said in a statement. “I accepted this role because advocacy without strategy is noise, and strategy without heart is hollow. I bring both.

“To every woman business owner watching her rights questioned, her programs defunded, and her worth debated — I see you. I am you. And I am not here to be quiet,” she added. “I am here to be a catalyst for the systemic transformation our communities deserve. They can roll back the programs. They cannot roll back the power of women who refuse to be erased.”

Brown brings 20-plus years of significant consulting and community leadership expertise in both non-profit and governmental agencies.
