Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Productions is in development of a live-action film, titled Greek Freak, for Disney+ inspired by the true-life story of NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo and his family, and they are currently looking for actors to play Giannis and his brother, Thanasis, in their younger days.
Akin Omotoso is attached to direct the movie. This story recounts the brothers’ rise, with the help of their family, from undocumented Nigerian immigrants, living in Greece to basketball superstars in America.
Antetokounmpo, the reigning MVP, says interested actors don’t need experience, but it helps to look like the Antetokounmpo brothers and have some basketball experience. Interested actors can submit their information and audition tape here.
Production on the film will begin in 2021 in Antetokounmpo’s native Greece and other US locations.
