Former Badger Tolzein to Start for Colts Sunday

Former Wisconsin quarterback Scott Tolzien will start in Week 1 for the Indianapolis Colts. Team general manager Chris Ballard made it official on Monday.

Andrew Luck had surgery on his throwing shoulder in January and has missed the entire preseason.

Tolzien’s in his second season with the Colts. He spent 2013-’15 with the Packers after starting his career with a two-year stint with the 49ers.

He has three career starts- 2 games with the Packers in 2013 and 1 game last season with the Colts. He’s thrown 2 touchdowns and 7 interceptions in 9 total appearances.

Tolzien threw for 5,164 yards 32 touchdowns in two years as a starter at Wisconsin.
