Forward Madison adds midfielder on loan from Panama’s first division

Forward Madison FC has signed defensive midfielder Enrique Xavier Machasen Wilkins on loan from Club Deportivo Universitario, pending league and federation approval.

Machasen, a 22-year-old from Panama, joins Forward Madison after establishing himself in the Liga Panameña, Panama’s top professional league. He made his professional debut in 2023 at age 19 and has since recorded 37 starts in 57 appearances for Club Deportivo Universitario, totaling 2,373 minutes of play. During his time with the club, Machasen scored two goals and added two assists while playing primarily in central midfield roles.

In the 2025 season, Machasen helped Club Deportivo Universitario finish first in the Western Conference of the Liga Panameña before the team was eliminated in the quarterfinals on penalties by Alianza FC.

Forward Madison officials said in a statement that Machasen’s versatility allows him to contribute in multiple midfield roles, and his arrival lowers the club’s average roster age to 23, compared to 27 for the 2025 squad.

Forward Madison FC will open its eighth season on the road against One Knoxville SC on March 14. The club’s 2026 home opener is scheduled for May 16 against Detroit City FC at Breese Stevens Field in the team’s first Prinx Tires USL Cup match.
