Forward Madison have signed 28-year-old forward Nazeem Bartman, pending league and federation approval, the club announced in a release Wednesday. Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, he most recently spent time playing for Chicago House AC in the National Independent Soccer Association.

“Nazeem has really impressed us so far in preseason,” Head Coach and Technical Director Matt Glaeser said. “He has a nose for goal, his movement on the ball is great, and he’s a professional.”

Bartman started his playing career in the USL PDL with the Michigan Bucks in 2013. His soccer career advanced when he started playing at Tyler Junior College before eventually transferring to University of South Florida in 2015. After a strong final season with the USF Bulls, Bartman was drafted by Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the fourth round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft.

In the 207 season, Bartman made 13 appearances with the Whitecaps reserve team in USL Championship and he scored a goal. Bartman had an even stronger 2018 campaign as the striker played for Myrtle Beach Mutiny (in the USL League Two) and scored five goals in eight appearances. From 2018 to 2021, Bartman made his way around the US playing for a number of different clubs before eventually landing with Chicago House AC.

In his most recent season with Chicago House AC, Bartman made an instant impact scoring three goals in five games in 2021. Now representing the pink and blue, look for Bartman to have a hand in providing goals for the Flamingos.
