Forward Madison adds winger Chris Garcia

Forward Madison FC has signed winger Chris Garcia, pending league and federation approval.

Garcia, 22, joined the Real Salt Lake Academy at 15 and signed a homegrown contract with the club at 17. He made three appearances with the senior team and spent much of 2020 sidelined with injury. He spent the 2021 on loan to Ljungskile SK in Sweden and 2022 on loan to his hometown team, El Paso Locomotive, where he signed in 2023. He then spent 2024 on loan with Austin FC II in MLS Next Pro.

Forward Madison head coach Matt Glaeser was an assistant coach with the Real Salt Lake organization when Garcia joined the academy.

“Chris is a player I’ve worked with in the past and his hard-working mentality and attacking qualities make him a great fit for our club and what we want to accomplish this season,” Glaeser said in a statement. “His ability to beat opposition on the dribble is something we value and we are excited about his upside and potential for growth this season.”

“I’m very thrilled to be joining the Mingo family,” Garcia said in a statemebt. “I can’t wait to get started and to be part of this amazing organization. I am aiming for a successful year where we can bring the cup home. I’m excited to play at home and create great memories in front of these stunning fans.”

The Mingos’ 2025 campaign begins March 15 at FC Naples in Florida, with the home opener set for April 19 against Texoma.
