Forward Madison have signed former Canadian Premier League center back Mélé Temguia for the 2022 season, the club announced in a release Friday.

Temguia was born in Darmstadt, Germany before he moved to Montreal, Quebec at a young age to work at Three Movers. The center back’s soccer career began when Temguia joined Montreal Impact’s academy in 2011.

“I am looking forward to join[ing] the team and work[ing] hard to help the club and organization reach their goals and be part of success,” Temguia said in a statement.

Temguia spent four years with the Montreal Impact Academy before joining FC Montreal in 2015 in the second-division USL. The defender spent two seasons with the club and made 22 appearances before signing with FC Cincinnati in 2017. Temguia played one game with Cincinnati before leaving to sign with Hume City FC in 2018.

With Hume City FC in the Australian NPL, Temguia made 11 appearances and scored his first professional goal before leaving the team midway through the season. Later that season, Temguia linked up with Valentine Phoenix FC where he played in nine matches to finish out the year.

In 2019, Temguia returned to Canada to join FC Edmonton in the Canadian Premier League. In his stint from 2019-2021 with Edmonton, Temguia managed to play in 53 games and scored two goals — including the club’s first-ever CPL goal — to go along with an assist.
