International Women’s Day 2016: Pledge For Parity will be held Saturday, March 5, 10:30 a.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church, 944 East Gorham Street.
International Women’s Day 2016: Pledge For Parity will bring together women of all backgrounds to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women in many places around the world and to think about ways in which we can accelerate gender parity.
The World Economic Forum predicted in 2014 that it would take until 2095 to achieve global gender parity. Then one year later in 2015, they estimated that a slowdown in the already glacial pace of progress meant the gender gap wouldn’t close entirely until 2133.
