Jalen Johnson commits to Duke

0

Former Sun Prairie basketball star Jalen Johnson has chosen Duke. Johnson, who is ranked number four on ESPN’s list of the top players in the nation will be going to play for coach Mike Kryzyzewski and join perhaps the most legendary program in all of college basketball. Johnson announced his decision on Twitter on Thursday.

As a sophomore Jalen Johnson led Sun Prairie to the WIAA Division 1 state semifinals before transferring to Glendale Nicolet for the 2018-19 season. He was All-state first team this year and was the AP player of the year while leading Nicolet to the state championship in March. During that tournament Johnson dazzled with his smothering defense and highlight reel dunks.

A bruising and athletic 6’8″ forward, Johnson is one of the most imposing players in all of high school basketball and is the prototype of the players Coach K has been recruiting lately. Players like Marvin Bagley, Justise Winslow, Jabari Parker and Jayson Tatum all had similar skill sets to Johnson.
