Jamie Quam has been named the new development director at Centro Hispano of Dane County.
“I am so excited to have Jamie join the team at Centro. Every day I am inspired by the dreams and determination of our staff and community,” Karen Menéndez Coller, executive director of Centro Hispano, tells Madison365. “I am proud to get to work and grow with Jamie as Centro and our partners transform the economic and social well-being of the Dane County Latinx community. Jamie will be Centro’s second development director in our almost 40-year history.”
As development director at Centro, Quam will build the brand and visibility of the agency while helping to grow its programs and staff to better serve the needs of the community as well has help plan big Centro events like the Evening of Dreaming, the Annual Celebration Gala, and the Becas Awards Luncheon.
Quam will have big shoes to fill following Nina Gehan, who recently left her role as director of advancement at Centro after six years, to pursue her dream of starting her own business, MeaningFULL Development and Communications, which is focused on providing hands-on assistance, consulting and coaching in fundraising, development and communications to emerging and existing non-profits and their leadership teams.
“I also couldn’t be prouder of Nina (Gehan), Centro’s first development director, and now the founder and CEO of MeaningFULL Development and Communications, for her ongoing impact in this community and current leadership of Campaign Centro,” Menéndez Coller says.
