Ozaukee/Random Lake sophomore striker Mya Schroeder is Xtra Time Talent’s (XTT) Player of the Week for the sectional round of the Wisconsin girls’ high school season, scoring all eight (!!) goals in a 6-0 win over Living Word Lutheran in the sectional semifinal and a 2-1 win over Oostburg in the final to power ORL to a second consecutive berth in the state tournament.
“We went and scouted her vs LWL and she scored 6 goals versus a d1 recruit goalie (LWL keeper and UNI commit Hailey Luedtke) and a double man mark,” said Oostburg head coach Chris Wolfert. “We changed our entire formation to cover her with no luck as she again scored twice. I played seven defenders back and she did everything to make it miserable. She should no doubt be the player of the week for her performance these past two games.”
Even Luedtke’s dad had to give Schoeder a tip of the cap.
“She’s just too good, and my daughter has played all over the country,” Dustin Luedtke said. “I’ve never seen a forward finish like this. If she isn’t PotW for sectionals, I don’t know who is.”
Fourth-seeded ORL takes on Division 4 top seed Xavier in the state semifinal at 11 am on Friday.
