Krishna Kumar will serve as general manager for the Madison Water Utility, Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway announced on Tuesday.
“Mr. Kumar brings deep experience managing water utilities and leading them through challenging circumstances while demonstrating an exemplary commitment to high-quality service,” Rhodes-Conway said in a press release. “I look forward to working with him at the Madison Water Utility.”
Kumar has served as general manager for both the Marin Municipal Water Utility and the Valley of the Moon Water District in northern California. He will succeed, Tom Heikkinen, who had been the Water Utility’s general manager for the previous 12 years.
Kumar starts his position at the Madison Water Utility on June 1.
