The Madison365 12U girls basketball team took their first loss of the spring season but bounced back with a convincing win to take second in their group at the Friday Night Main Event Finals in Stoughton Friday.

Despite scoring a single point in the first half, a potent Middleton team came back to tie the game and ultimately win in overtime, 16-11.

In the nightcap, Madison365 got 12 points from Alyse Winzer and nine each from Kennedi Castillo and newcomer Maliyah Thompson to rout Wisconsin Academy 43-11.

“We lost to a Middleton team that won the Badger Development League which, I believe, is the best development league in the state and they took second in the Wisconsin State Invitational Championship Tournament,” said Madison365 head coach Henry Sanders said.
“Coach Drye always has them prepared and they know how to win. The game was a great learning experience for us. Hopefully we learn from the game and grow as a team.”

Next up the Madison365 team heads to Wisconsin Dells for the JAG Spring Break Shootout on March 16. Keep up with all the team news and stats at Madison365.org/365Basketball.
