Henry Sanders Jr., CEO of 365 Media Foundation, publisher of Madison365 and a longtime advocate for business development and entrepreneurship, will be the keynote speaker for the 32nd Fox Cities Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on January 16.
The celebration of the life and vision of Dr. King will be held virtually via Zoom from 6:30 to 8 p.m., the university announced in a press release Wednesday. The community event is sponsored by Lawrence University, the City of Appleton, United Way Fox Cities, Appleton Area School District, Boys and Girls Club of the Fox Valley, People of Progression, and Covey.
Musical performances will be presented by Rosanna Williams, an Appleton student, and Kyree Allen, a Lawrence alumnus.
Sanders will deliver the address, What is Your Life’s Blueprint?
For nearly 20 years, Sanders has been an advocate for community development, economic development, and entrepreneurship in diverse communities across Wisconsin and the Midwest. He has worked in roles in government and business, including serving as the Small Business Administration’s Region V Advocate in the Obama administration and as a vice president of the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce. He was instrumental in launching several new initiatives in Madison, including the Madison Area Growth Network (MAGNET), Madison Network of Black Professionals, and Capacity 360, a government relations firm. Madison365 is operated by 365 Media Foundation, a nonprofit based in Madison with a statewide reach.
The MLK community event has been a mainstay in the Fox Cities for more than three decades, a celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. King.
