The Madison Metropolitan Chapter of The Links, Incorporated will honor various local people and organizations, including Madison365, at its 11th annual Scholarship and Community Recognition Jazz Brunch on Saturday, March 9, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the East Madison DoubleTree by Hilton.

“The Scholarship and Community Recognition Jazz Brunch serves as the primary fundraiser that has allowed us to provide more than $260,000 in scholarships to deserving students at our Student Recognition Program, which recognizes over 1,200 students annually,” said Nia Trammell, president of Madison Links, in a statement.

Honorees at the annual event, along with Madison365, will include Dr. Ruben Anthony, Jr., president & CEO of the Urban League of Greater Madison; Dr. Angie Crawford-Hicks, associate superintendent of secondary schools for MMSD; Myra McNair, founder and owner of Anesis Therapy; the Honorable Everett Mitchell, a judge on the Dane County Circuit Court; Bishop Godfrey A. Stubbs, senior pastor of End Time Ministries International; and Dr. Jasmine Zapata, Chief Medical Officer of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations committed to enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other people of African ancestry.

The theme for this year’s jazz brunch is “Spring Fling Carnival” bringing the community together to raise scholarship funds for area students and chapter programming, while honoring individuals and organizations that contribute richly to our community.

“Our organization focuses on implementing impactful programs in five critical areas: services to youth, the arts, national trends and services, international trends and services, and health and human services,” Links co-chair Corinda Rainey-Moore said. “Each honoree this year has engaged in great work that aligns with the core values of our programming.”

Tickets for the Jazz Brunch are $75 each, or $600 for a table of eight and may be purchased at www.madisonlinks.org or by e-mailing [email protected].
