Madison’s Barrio Dance Factory won first place in the USA Division at the World of Dance Summit competition that took place in Los Angeles July 28-31.
Barrio Dance Factory competed in the World of Dance with the top 20 crews from around the world on Tuesday, July 30. The World of Dance Summit is the largest dance entertainment enterprise in the world and unites global participants in a year-end celebration combining top-tier competition at “World of Dance Finals” with team exhibition performances showcasing creative expression across all disciplines of dance.
Led by owner AJ Juarez and partner Nicole Nelson, the duo opened Barrio Dance Factory with the intention of putting Madison on the map in the dance world. “Then they can go out there to L.A., New York, overseas and be able to say, ‘Yeah, I trained in Madison and now I’m able to work in the industry,’” said Juarez in a statement.
Barrio Dance Studio is located at 834 E. Washington Ave.
