The Milwaukee Public Schools Board of School Directors accepted the resignation of Superintendent Dr. Keith Posley early Tuesday morning.
The unanimous 7-0 board vote came during a special meeting for the board following the revelation that MPS was at least 8 months behind on providing critical financial reports to the Department of Public Instruction.
Posley’s resignation will take effect June 30. He has served as superintendent since 2018.
Southwest Regional Superintendent Eduardo Galvan will support and facilitate day-to-day operations, according to a statement from the Milwaukee School Board who also said that it will begin the search for an interim superintendent right away.
