Milwaukee’s SistaStrings perform with Brandi Carlile on SNL

Milwaukee’s SistaStrings could be seen on national television this weekend appearing on “Saturday Night Live” Dec. 10 as they joined Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile’s band, the featured performer on the iconic sketch comedy show.

The show, hosted by SNL comedic legends Steve Martin and Martin Short, aired at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10.

SistaStrings, made up of Milwaukee-born-and-raised sisters Monique and Chauntee Ross, combine years of gospel singing with their classical music training & R&B influences culminating in a vibey, lush sound with thick string harmonies between violin and cello and soulful voices. You can see the performance below.

Other television appearances this year for the duo have included Jimmy Kimmel Live, Ellen, and at the Grammys where they played with both Carlile and R&B/soul/pop artist Alicia Keys.
