Mingos add attacking threat in Juan Galindrez

Forward Madison FC has signed Juan Galindrez for the 2024 season, pending league and
federation approval. Galindrez, a Colombian forward, joined Rio Grande Valley FC for the 2023 USL Championship season, where he appeared in 19 matches, logged six starts, scored three goals, and had two assists, and became available when RGV folded at the end of the 2023 season.

He had spent the previous two seasons with Chattanooga Red Wolves of USL League One, where he scored 25 goals in two seasons. He remains that club’s all-time leading scorer.

“We are very excited to add Juan to our 2024 roster,” Forward Madison Head Coach Matt Glaeser said in a statement. “He is an exciting attacking player with a proven goalscoring record in our league and a profile that fits our identity. Juan is hungry to prove himself and be a positive influence on our culture this season.”

The 29-year-old began his career in Mexico, playing with Real Cuautitlán, before moving to Tijuana Premier, the reserve team for Club Tijuana, where he scored 21 goals in 34 games. In 2019, Gallindrez returned to Colombia to play with the second team for Fortaleza CEIF.

In 2021, Galindrez signed with the Chattanooga Red Wolves in USL League One, a squad that he would play with for two years. During his first season, he scored the fifth most goals in the league with 11. In his second year, Gallindrez was named USL League One Player of the Month for June, a month in which he scored six goals. He would end the with 14 goals, the fourth most goals in the league.

Forward Madison’s season begins at South Georgia Tormenta on March 16. The home opener is set for April 13, when Madison will host Richmond Kickers.
