The Martin Luther King, Jr. Free Community Dinner scheduled for Friday, Jan. 12, 4:30-7 p.m. at UW Gordon Commons has been canceled, the King Coalition announced on Thursday afternoon, due to the forecast of a severe snowstorm on Friday.

The annual dinner brings people from all walks of life together in the spirit of true brotherhood and sisterhood to commemorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King. Other King Coalition events this weekend will continue as scheduled including the 39th Annual Madison & Dane County MLK Day Observance, the MLK Youth Day of Service, the MLK I Have a Dream Scholarship Ball, the MLK Youth Recognition Breakfast, and more.

The MLK choir rehearsals tonight and Saturday will take place as scheduled as well as the MLK Ecumenical Service on Sunday evening at Fountain of Life Church.
