The National Basketball Association has suspended regular season play until further notice after a player tested positive to COVID-19, according to multiple media reports.
ESPN reported Wednesday evening that Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus disease. Gobert’s results were learned just before tipoff of the Jazz game against Oklahoma City. That game was postponed just before tip and the league announced shortly thereafter that all play would be suspended.
In a statement, the NBA said it “will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic.”
