Dozens of large teams of riders will see some great Dane County scenery and raise money for a great cause at the 17th-annual Bike for Boys & Girls Clubs event on Saturday, July 20.

Bike for Boys and Girls Club is a Madison tradition that brings together the local community to participate in a bike ride that benefits the local youth and their families in Dane County. Every mile ridden raises money for quality after-school programs for Dane County youth that inspire and enable youth to realize their full potential. This year, funds will help support the opening of a brand new Club in Sun Prairie that is set to open in January 2020.

“The continuing support over the years has been incredible! It’s been a pleasure to see this event grow and to see the positive things that we are able to do because of its success,” said Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County President and CEO Michael Johnson, in a statement. “We are currently in the process of opening up a brand new Club out in Sun Prairie. These dollars are crucial in ensuring we open the best Club possible and serve thousands more youth.”

Bike for Boys & Girls Clubs will start at McKee Park in Fitchburg. Riders of all ages and abilities are encouraged to take part. Riders may participate as an individual or part of a team by selecting one of three routes to pedal their way across the finish line and into the after-ride party featuring delicious food, cold beer, fun games and live music.

A series of events leading up to Bike for BGC include a Paint & Sip night on top of the Galaxie, a movie night at The Edgewater, a bowling night at Ten Pin Alley, and a field day at McKee Farms Park. A list of all activities can be found here.
