Nichelle Nichols to lead panel discussion on addressing disparities in public services at the 365 Leadership Summit

Nichelle Nichols, the president of the Madison Metropolitan School District Board of Education and System Leader in Residence at the National Equity Project will moderate a panel discussion titled “Addressing Disparities in Public Services: Health, Education, and Housing” on November 6 at the 365 Leadership Summit presented by UW Credit Union.

The sixth annual summit will take place November 6 and 7 and include more than 20 panel discussion on a wide range of topics, as well as the largest-ever 365 Leadership Community Choice Awards. Registration is open now at this link.

Nichelle  joined National Equity Project in July, 2021. She previously worked at the Madison Metropolitan School District as the Executive Director of the Office of Equity & Engagement where she led the charge on the district’s Black Excellence strategic priority, advanced racial equity efforts and implemented strategies on family engagement, community partnership, youth voice and Community Schools. Nichols worked at the Madison school district since 2015.

Her career has spanned over 20 years in the non-profit and public sector serving the greater Madison, WI area including serving as the Chief Academic Officer at the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County; Vice President of Education at the Urban League of Greater Madison; Volunteer Manager at Big Brothers Big Sisters and Development Director at Community Action Coalition. She was awarded a 2019 YWCA of Madison Women of Distinction award.

Ms. Nichols lives in Madison. She is the proud mother of four sons, Elijah, Isaiah, Kahari and Jahlani; enjoys walking in nature, dancing and writing. She is pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Edgewood College, has a master’s degree in business management from Cardinal Stritch University and a bachelor’s degree in family and consumer journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
