Nominations are currently being sought for the 2019 City-County Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Award.

The King Commission identifies individuals within the Madison Community who have made outstanding and significant contributions in the spirit of brotherhood, sisterhood, and harmony towards making our city an ideal place to live. Awards are presented each year during the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration.

Potential nominees from Dane County need to have made outstanding and significant contributions in the spirit of Dr. King. The Commissioners consider how well the candidates upheld the values of Dr. King, with extraordinary personal commitments to promoting racial diversity, advancing social justice, and exemplifying the non-violent philosophy of Dr. King.
