The Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra (WCO) has announced that tonight’s concert to open the 43rd season of Concerts on the Square will be postponed due to the threat of severe weather in the area.
“Joel & John: Piano Men Legends” will instead take place tomorrow, Thursday, June 25, 7 p.m.
“Safety is always our top priority,” says WCO CEO Joe Loehnis in a press release. “The weather threat this afternoon and into the evening was enough for us to make the tough call to postpone the season-opening concert. The great news is that our weather and media partner, News 3, is telling us that tomorrow looks like it’s going to be a beautiful day. I hope to see the community come out on Thursday and enjoy the music of two iconic performers played by our musicians alongside Jeans ‘n Classics.”
On Thursday, Jeans ’n Classics will join the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra at Concerts on the Square for the 11th time for a hit-packed night of Billy Joel and Elton John favorites — from “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant” to “My Life” and “Bennie and the Jets.”
