Operation Fresh Start has received a $30,000 grant from Spectrum through its Spectrum Community Center Assist program to support the Madison nonprofit’s workforce development efforts.
The grant was announced Thursday at McCarthy Youth and Conservation County Park in Cottage Grove. Operation Fresh Start Executive Director Brian McMahon and State Sen. Melissa Ratcliff joined representatives from the nonprofit and Spectrum for the announcement.
Located on Madison’s East Side, Operation Fresh Start helps emerging adults work toward self-sufficiency through education, mentoring and employment training. Since its founding in 1970, the organization has helped more than 9,000 emerging adults pursue pathways to life-sustaining careers.
The latest grant brings Spectrum’s total support for Operation Fresh Start to $80,000 over the past two years.
