Dee Star earned the 365 Leadership Community Choice Award for Best Podcast in 2023.

The award-winning OuttaDeeBox Podcast, hosted by Dee Star and featuring members of Wisconsin communities who’ve overcome incarceration and other obstacles, will become part of the 365 Media network of podcasts when its next season begins on March 7.

Host and producer Star extends an invitation to the audience to be a part of a movement towards positive change. The podcast serves as a platform for advocacy, raising awareness about the challenges faced by former inmates, and promoting the idea that everyone deserves a chance at redemption.

OuttaDeeBox will continue to be released biweekly, every other Thursday, with each season consisting of 10 episodes. It joins Angela Russell’s interview podcast Black Oxygen, the weekly news roundup 365 Amplified and Real Talk with Henry Sanders on the 365 Media network.

“Madison365 and the 365 Media network have become an essential platform for communities of color across Wisconsin,” Star said. “I’m grateful and thrilled to join the 365 family. This partnership will allow us to bring important voices to a much wider audience and make a real impact across the state.”

The podcast comes to the 365 Media network with a dedicated audience. Its listeners and fans helped propel it to the 365 Media Community Choice Award for Best Podcast in 2023.

An excerpt from Star’s interview with Palletpreneurs founder J Ball rebroadcast on WORT-FM won the first place award for Best Interview from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association in 2023.

The podcast has also been honored by induction into the Milwaukee Hip Hop Museum.

The podcast’s first episode under the 365 banner will feature Boys and Girls Club of Dane County CEO Michael Johnson. Other guests slated for the next season include Eugene Crisler, Coo Coo Cal, and Uchenna Jones.

Past episodes remain available on the OuttaDeeBox podcast feed and the podcast’s Facebook page. New episodes will appear on the same feed, and also be featured on Madison365.org and the Madison365 social media channels.
