One City Elementary School closed its doors today after the school received a phone call from a parent notifying them of a bomb threat made towards the school on social media. According to a message from One City officials, the City of Fitchburg Police Department now has the person in custody who made the threat.
The City of Monona Police Department, with support from the City of Madison and McFarland Police departments, immediately responded to the school’s 911 and evacuated the building. All of the children who participate in the One City before-school program were relocated to Monona Gardens Restaurant.
One City will reopen tomorrow, Friday, Feb.4 at its regularly scheduled time, including its before school program.
