Police Department Offers Chance To Resolve Unpaid Tickets

Madison police are offering residents a chance to resolve unpaid traffic, parking and non-traffic ordinance violation tickets.

Unpaid Ticket Resolution Day will be held Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at Villager Mall at 2206 Park Street. City attorneys and staff will be on hand to discuss alternate ways to pay off fines, have payments reduced or come up with payment plans.

In a blog post, MPD Chief Mike Koval said the event is aimed at easing the fears of residents who don’t want to interact with police because of fines.

“This is a modest step on everyone’s part to try to work with our constituents to help in reducing stress, lowering anxiety, and offering terms that may be more reasonable to those who are struggling,” Koval wrote.
