Seventy low-income families that live in the Allied neighborhood will receive a complete Thanksgiving dinner due to a donation campaign organized by MSCR staff at the Allied Learning Center, 2237 Allied Drive.

The MSCR Allied Learning Center serves more than 120 children in afterschool and other community assistance programs. Many of children’s parents struggle to make ends meet and do not have the resources to purchase a complete Thanksgiving dinner.

“We are so touched by community members’ generosity year after year donating food so families in the Allied neighborhood can share a Thanksgiving meal,” said Laura Harrington, MSCR Allied Learning Center Director.

This is the 17th year the center has coordinated the project. Madison Memorial High School sports teams, MSCR staff, Queen of Peace church members and Stephens Elementary School staff and students donate items for the dinner baskets.
