State Rep. Sheila Stubbs (D-Madison) was honored by the Wisconsin Counties Association with a WCA Outstanding Legislator Award on Tuesday at the Wisconsin State Capitol for her work on behalf of county government during the 2023-2024 Legislative Session.
“Rep. Stubbs has been a tremendous partner and advocate, not just in the 77th Assembly District, but for our entire state,” said WCA President and CEO Mark D. O’Connell in a statement. “She has been a longtime leader and has been an important part of our organization, having served previously on our board of directors. She is a tireless legislator who works across party lines to create and foster responsible public policy initiatives that strongly impact Wisconsin.”
The Wisconsin Counties Association represents the interests of county government on the state and federal levels and is in Madison. The “WCA Outstanding Legislator Award” is presented biennially to a select group of legislators who have represented county interests in both the legislature and in their districts and have demonstrated leadership for counties on key issues, legislation and the state budget.
“As a former Dane County Supervisor, Rep. Stubbs also understands the work of counties and their impact on our state,” said O’Connell. “We are grateful for her continuing efforts and are proud to present her with this award.”
