The state of Wisconsin reported just over 6,300 new coronavirus tests on Sunday, of which 1,119 were positive, for a positive test rate of about 17.7 percent. The seven-day average of new cases per day rose slightly to 1,676.

The state of Wisconsin also reported six COVID deaths on Saturday, bringing the total death toll to 5,691. Since March, an additional 161 people have tested positive for COVID but died of other causes. The seven-day average of reported deaths fell to 33.6.

The seven-day positive rate for all people tested, which would be less subject day to day fluctuations in testing, continued a sharp decline, falling from 21.2 to 20.5 percent, while the positive rate for all tests fell from 6.5 to 6.1 percent.

The state also reported Friday that 56,680 Wisconsin residents have completed the COVID-19 vaccination series. In all, 310,256 vaccine doses have been administered. Vaccine data are not updated on the weekends.

The estimated number of active cases — diagnosed in the past 30 days — fell slightly to just under 22,900, about 4.3 percent of the 532,972 total cases confirmed in Wisconsin.
