The state of Wisconsin reported just under 5,900 new coronavirus tests on Thursday, of which 732 were positive. The seven-day average of new cases per day fell to 641.

The seven-day positive rate, which would be less subject day to day fluctuations in testing, fell slightly from 3.4 percent to 3.3.

The state reported four new deaths on Thursday, increasing the total death toll to 6,725.

The seven-day average of daily deaths held at four.

Since March 2020, an additional 159 people have tested positive for COVID but died of other causes.

The estimated number of active cases — diagnosed in the past 30 days — rose to just over 9,10, just over 1.5 percent of the 592,909 total cases confirmed in Wisconsin.

The state also reported Monday that almost 1.73 million Wisconsin residents have completed the COVID-19 vaccination series. The state says an average of just over 44,000 doses are being administered each day, down from a peak average of 63,000. In all, more than four million vaccine doses have been administered to nearly 2.4 million people.
