This morning, Summerfest announced that Sting and Peter Gabriel will serve as Marcus Amphitheater headliners on Sunday, July 10, the final night of the 2016 Big Gig. The duo’s performance comes as a part of their combined “Rock Paper Scissors” tour.

Peter Gabriel played at Summerfest most recently in 2011, putting on a three-hour show in the Marcus Amphitheater alongside the New Blood Orchestra and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.

The two icons will perform “their own songs, as well as melding their bands to explore each other’s most celebrated hits.”

Tickets for Sting and Peter Gabriel’s joint show will go on sale beginning Monday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. and, as always, come with Summerfest admission included. Tickets can be bought at the Summerfest box office – either in person or over the phone at (414) 273-2600 – at Ticketmaster ticket centers, Walmart locations, online at Ticketmaster.com or by phone, either through a live Ticketmaster agent (1-800-745-3000) or through Ticketmaster’s automated line (1-866-448-7849).

There will also be an online-only Stay Connected pre-sale for subscribers to Summerfest email alerts and those who follow the Big Gig on Facebook and Twitter. The pre-sale will start Friday, Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. and run until 10 p.m. or until the pre-sale inventory has been exhausted.

The tandem of Sting and Peter Gabriel join the increasingly filled Summerfest lineup, which includes Selena Gomez, country acts Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton, and the alt rock combination of Weezer and Panic! At the Disco. For the rest of the Big Gig 2016 lineup, stay tuned to OnMilwaukee.
