State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Evers, Wisconsin’s top education official since 2009, has filed paperwork to set up a run for governor of the state of Wisconsin, according to state campaign records.
Evers, who won election for the state superintendent’s job for the third time earlier this year and has held the job since April 2009, is looking to potentially challenge Republican Governor Scott Walker in the 2018 gubernatorial race.
Businessman Andy Gronik and State Senator Kathleen Vinehout have also filed paperwork for the campaign on the Democratic side so far.
