The Rainbow Project’s 18th annual Rhumba 4 Rainbow set for Sept. 16

The Rainbow Project’s 18th annual Rhumba 4 Rainbow, Madison’s premier salsa fundraising event, will return on Friday, Sept. 16, 7 p.m.-midnight, with an action-packed night of entertainment and high-caliber performances from professional Latin dancers from around the world.

Every year, Rhumba 4 Rainbow raises money for The Rainbow Project which is a nonprofit located on East Washington Avenue on Madison’s near east side that has been providing child and family services for young children who have experienced trauma, including child abuse, child sexual abuse, neglect and exposure to domestic or community violence for more than 40 years.

Rhumba 4 Rainbow will feature friendly dance competitions between local Madison celebrities in the Celebrity Dane Challenge including Peter Kraus, owner of PK fitness & former contestant on The Bachelorette; Dana Fulton, Department of Natural Resources; Areli Estrada, Affordable Dental Care; Nicole Sandoval, Madison College, Megan Paskey of the Madison Police Department; and Steve Redmond of the Madison Fire Department.

The event will also feature dance instructors of Fred Astaire Madison, Madison Ballroom Company, and Arthur Murray. Guests will also get to enjoy some truly stunning, high-caliber performances from professional Latin dancers from around the world including Benny Ayala & Ashley Magana, Kevin Gallego & Ana Saoco, Brandon Ayala,  Bachata All Stars, Salsabrositas, and Barrio Dance.  

Music at the event will be provided by DJ Rumba and Orquesta MAS- Madison All Stars.
