President Donald Trump said on Twitter late Monday that he intended to sign an executive order temporarily suspending all immigration to the United States “in light of the attack of the Invisible Enemy” — the novel coronavirus.

It’s not clear whether such an executive order would be legal, and it would surely face court challenge. Trump did not indicate when he would sign such an order or how long it would last.
